More Information:

Our sister company, Locker’s Depot, contains some of the widest variety of lockers available for purchase. Full metal lockers are the perfect option for schools, corporate offices, gyms, and more. We offer lockers with numbers and nameplates, perfect for easy customization without having to seek out a custom engraving company. Sizing varies greatly. Our most popular options are two tier and three tier metal lockers, but we offer all the way up to ten tier. As a unique alternative, we do offer plastic lockers for sale that are perfect for higher moisture areas. These especially work well for poolside or outdoors, because there is no rust, mold, or paint chipping. If someone throws their wet bathing suit down, there’s no risk of the locker becoming tarnished. These are a heavy duty lockers that are available in many configurations. We have worked with large companies, state, federal and military, in providing lockers in bulk.

Essentially, any type you can think of, we can provide. For custom orders or questions, feel free to contact us via our Raytechstore website or Lockers Depot.

Frequently Asked Questions - Lockers

Details

Q: Do the lockers bolt together?

Lockers can be bolted together if you prefer, but the assembly instructions will not suggest bolting them together. If you prefer to have lockers bolted together as personal preference, a small hole can be drilled through the side of the locker into the next one, and a small bolt with a nut can be placed in that hole.

Q: Should I bolt the lockers against the wall?

If there is only one locker, it should be bolted against the wall so there is no movement if someone leans on the locker while the door is open. If there are multiple lockers that are butted up against one another, they support each other and are much more difficult to move. At this point, it is your prerogative to bolt them against the wall or not. You can also bolt the end ones only to the wall that should hold the middle ones in place.

Q: Can I set the lockers on a pedestal?

Yes, lockers can be set on a pedestal. Many customers will order metal lockers without legs so they sit flat on the pedestal. One example of this, is in schools where concrete pedestals are built and lockers are placed on top. Wooden and plastic lockers do not have legs and can be placed on the pedestal.

Q: Do the lockers come with the installation hardware?

No, lockers do not come with installation hardware. If you choose to bolt the lockers to the wall or together, personal tools and hardware will need to be provided. Factories do not provide installation hardware because different materials may be needed based upon the type of wall and installation intended. Lockers do come with assembly hardware if ordered unassembled.

Q: Do the lockers arrive assembled or unassembled?

Lockers can be ordered assembled or unassembled. Unassembled ships out in just a few days, and assembled lockers take approximately 3-4 weeks before shipping. When the lockers are assembled at the factory, they rivet the lockers together. When you choose to assemble the lockers yourself, they come with bolts and nuts.

Q: What finishes are available?

Standard colors are blue, tan and grey. Custom finishes can be ordered for an additional 30% and takes up to ten weeks. Most colors are available for custom orders.

Q: What is the door size of each locker?

It depends on the locker size and tiers. Please contact us for individual sizing.

Q: Are the lockers difficult to put together? How many people will I need to assemble them myself?

The locker instructions are well laid out, and they are not difficult to put together. However, instructions need to be followed closely so they don’t need to be taken apart half-way through because one part was assembled incorrectly. One person could potentially put them together, but it’d be much easier with two people so one person can hold the pieces together while the other attaches them.

Q: Does it comes with assembly instructions?

Yes.

Q: How many hooks are on the inside of each locker?

The number of hooks varies per locker. On bigger lockers, there are usually two hooks.

Q: Is there a hanger rod on the inside of the locker?

There are hanger rods inside the single tier lockers.

Q: Can we add additional shelves?

Yes, for an additional fee.

Q: Which locker is best for moisture?

Plastic lockers are best for moisture.

Q: Will metal lockers rust?

Depending on the environment the metal lockers are placed in, they have the potential to rust. We do take every measure for durability, and they are electro-static powder coated (paint applied with electricity so it fuses to the metal) to avoid rust.

Q: Are these lockers suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, depending on the environment. If they are placed close to the ocean or in a high moisture area, they will show wear and tear quicker than if they are placed in a gymnasium or outside under an overhang so they are not exposed to rain.

Shipping

Q: When will I receive the lockers?

Unassembled lockers are received in approximately one week. Assembled can take up to five weeks to be delivered.

Q: What method is used to ship the lockers?

FedEx freight or other truck lines.

Q: Will I be notified before delivery?

For smaller orders, the locker may just be left at your door. If it’s a larger order, they are likely to contact you to determine a drop off point or ensure someone will be available to receive the shipment.

Q: Can they be delivered inside?

If delivery inside is requested, this must be specified at the time of order as there is an additional charge.

Q: Do we need a dock for any lift gates on the truck?

Curbside delivery includes the truck parking/backing up as far as they can. From there, you will need to remove the pallets with a forklift or by other means. This is all that is included in delivery. If you would like the delivery service to lower a lift gate or remove merchandise and set it on the ground, it will be an additional charge. Please request when ordering.

Q: What happens if there’s damage to the box when it arrives?

If there’s damage to the box, the first thing you should do is open the box to see if there’s damage to the locker. If there is no damage, the load will be accepted but the driver still needs to be instructed to mark down that there was damage to the box. If multiple boxes were delivered and only one is damaged, you have the choice to accept the other boxes and refuse the one damaged for replacement. If you accept the entire load, it MUST be marked that there was damage by the truck company. An image needs to be taken of the damage, plus confirmation that the delivery driver marked down the damage, sent to us at raytechstore@gmail.com, and a replacement will be sent as soon as possible.

Q: What if we discover there’s damage after the delivery service leaves, but there was no damage to the box?

As soon as the delivery is accepted by the customer signing for the load, it becomes their responsibility. The freight company/factory will not pay in full for concealed damage. It is very important to examine the lockers by opening the boxes before signing confirmation of acceptance. This applies to damage, not manufacturing defects.

Locks

Q: Can I purchase locks with my order?

Yes, there are padlocks, combo locks, and electronic locks.

Q: Are electronic locks pre-installed?

We can request electronic locks to be pre-installed only on assembled lockers. Please inquire if you are needing them pre-installed as it is a special request for the factory and not standard.

Q: What type of locks are available?

Padlocks with individual keys, combination locks available with a master key (ordered separately), and resettable electronic locks. Combination locks come with five different combo selections.

Wood Lockers

Q: Do the wood lockers come with side panels? Are lockers useable without the side panel?

Wood lockers do not come with side panels but they can be added for an additional fee. If one wood locker is going next to another, the end panel will not be seen and a panel will not be needed for the middle. If the locker is sitting alone, panels will be needed for the ends to create a finished look. For functionality, end panels are not necessary.

Q: Are the side panels attached when I receive the lockers?

No, side panels will need to be installed manually.

Q: What material is used on the inside of oak lockers?

White melamine is used on the inside of wood lockers to fight against moisture.

Q: How weather-resistant/waterproof are wood lockers?

The inside melamine is very water resistant. The oak outside is stained and sealed but will eventually show wear and tear due to moisture. We suggest staining and sealing the lockers every few years if they are in an area with high moisture.
