The 242 is a portable heater normally connected with a 12' AGA approved wire insulated rubber hose with a quick coupler. The quick coupler connects to you existing gas pipe. The hose can then be "snaped" into the quick coupler when using the heater or it can be left connected all the time.
If disconnected or "unsnaped", the hose can then be coiled around the heater pole and resting on the heater base for easy storage.
